In this video we have a look at a study on Australian firefighters and whether donating blood or plasma works as a way to remove PFAS, long lived chemicals, from blood. These chemicals remain in our body for many years and we have no natural way of removing them so blood donation seems to be one way to do it.

ST. LOUIS — Bob Muenz saw a silver lining when he recovered from COVID-19: the antibodies in his blood could help other people fight the coronavirus.

He donated plasma and got a call a few weeks later. The blood bank wanted him to donate again, because his antibody count was very high.

But he had a question: would donating again reduce the number of antibodies in his blood, and would that have an effect on his ability to fight off SARS-CoV-2 if he was exposed again?

The Verify Team at 5 On Your Side spoke to a local doctor to find out.

Dr. Alex Lacasse at SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital is an infectious disease doctor who has been treating COVID-19 patients for the last six months. He also just completed a study on plasma with the Mayo Clinic.

“The antibody level is never reduced. It stays in your system in what we call memory cells. So if, for example, you were exposed to COVID-19, the response would be, boom, instantaneous because we have those memories,” said Dr. Lacasse.

So we can verify: Donating plasma more than once will not reduce the antibody levels that protect against COVID-19.

The fight over a tunnel project in Antwerp has revealed extraordinary levels of toxins in the water, soil, and people near 3M’s factory. While the company said this week that it will cease using or making so-called forever chemicals a few years from now, for people living near the plant, the damage has already been done. And for regulators in Europe, the battle may be just beginning.

A new study has found that cancer causing chemicals called PFAS have been found in all the brands of contact lenses studied in the United States. These compounds have been linked to a variety of different and often fatal forms of cancer. As you know, I tried the very first PFAS cases ever tried in this country. Tried five of them against DuPont. Then we found out 3M was making as much of this as DuPont. We’re gonna start, our firm’s starting one of the biggest case, one of the biggest trials in America is gonna be starting up in South Carolina, June. And I’ll tell you what the documents are unbelievable.
Yeah. I actually, last week on America’s Lawyer talked to attorney Wes Bowden about that particular case and it is disgusting what’s happening up there. And this is just another story because you and I have sat here and we’ve talked about PFAS chemicals for so long in so many different instances. We talked about how it’s in your cereal, it’s in your toilet paper, it’s in your wood products, your paper and now.
Baby diapers.
Diapers. Now, it’s in your contact lenses. And the eyes, obviously, in case anybody’s not aware of this, are one of the most vulnerable parts of your body. It is a direct connection to the inside of you as an organism. And we’re putting these PFAS chemicals into our eyes and we didn’t know it. And God only knows how many decades we’ve been doing it.
Let put this in perspective. Okay. If you took one drop and put that drop in an Olympic size pool, that first of all, that one drop under the standards that should be followed is too much. That one drop in Olympic size pool. Now here’s what they’re finding. 18,000 parts per million, 18,000 parts per million are being found in these contact lenses. Even the government says in the most favorable situation that 2000 parts per trillion is the acceptable level. You get the deal?
Yeah.
18,000 per million and then 2000 per trillion. And so we’re seeing this and, you know, again, science won’t react. Ah, it’s not a problem. Everybody’s overreacting. No, nobody’s overreacting. You’re putting this in your eyeballs every day, man.
Yeah. We’re gonna deal with an entire, you know, up and coming generation that’s been more exposed to this than any other generation and we’re gonna see illnesses, cancers, all sorts of things in that younger generation more so I think than we have seen in any of the others.
Oh, I don’t think there’s any question.

Your air fryer is toxic. I’m surprised nobody is talking about this. Most of them use a non stick teflon coating on the basket full of forever chemicals like PFAS, PFOA, PFOS. I was searching for teflon free ceramic air fryers but they also have lead and cadmium. The rabbit hole goes deep on this one. ARE AIR FRYERS SAFE TO USE?

IS COOKING SAFE? IS HEAT SAFE? IS DEHYDRATION SAFE? ARE OVENS SAFE? ARE FATS SAFE? If you think these questions are unnecessary, then you can safely answer the question at hand.

Air Fryers are really just small-sized convection ovens (or OTGs) with a fan to circulate hot air more efficiently than in a large oven. This allows you to dehydrate the surface of foods really quickly and with very little oil. As long as you don’t char your food till it’s visibly dark brown or black all over, air-fried food is perfectly safe! Convection baking has been used by human beings since the dawn of cooking, and air fryers (despite their name) use the exact same physics of hot air transferring heat to food.
